Lake Duluti Day Trip - Canoeing & Hiking
Trip Overview
Nestled in the lush forests just outside Arusha, Lake Duluti is a hidden gem and a perfect day escape. This tranquil crater lake is believed to be more than 700 meters deep, though its true depth remains a mystery. Surrounded by rich greenery, it offers breathtaking views of Mt. Meru and, on clear days, even Mt. Kilimanjaro.
The lake is a haven for wildlife—majestic monitor lizards bask on the shores, countless bird species thrive here, and playful monkeys are often spotted in the treetops.
What to Expect
Your adventure begins with a morning pickup from Arusha and a short drive to the Duluti Forest Club. From here, you’ll set off on a guided hike around the lake, learning about its fascinating history, unique ecosystem, and vibrant flora and fauna.
After the hike, it’s time to get on the water! Grab a canoe and paddle across the calm lake, where you might spot monitor lizards, water birds, or simply drift peacefully under the sun.
Back at the Forest Club, you can unwind with a cold drink, take a refreshing swim, or just soak in the serene atmosphere.
